APECS – All Purpose Environmental Clothing System – this parka was developed to provide Marines with all-purpose/all-season outer shell parka that is lighter in weight, lower bulk, moisture vapor permeable, lower noise generation, and have better water repellency. This incorporates the woodland Marine pattern from 2004.

The parka has a draw cord collar, stowed hood, underarm openings, water-resistant slide fasteners, two concealed upper chest pockets, two lower pockets with flaps, two upper sleeve pockets with flaps, concealed hand warmer pockets, adjustable wrist tabs, draw cord adjustments for the waist and hem are concealed in the lower pockets, insignia tab on the left front. This is also designed to accommodate an optional detachable hood with fur ruff for use in extreme cold weather.

Made from a waterproof and moisture vapor permeable cloth conforming to MIL-PRF-32142. Parka Spec: MIL-DTL-32157
